It's important for council to know what our communities value about Tasman District towns, local centres, rural areas, and coastal places so we can design rules and policies that help look after our district.

During October and November 2020, we asked people to share what they think makes Tasman special using the map tool below. Some of the things that make a place special might be natural, activities you like to do, fond memories, or somewhere you enjoy working, living, holidaying, or shopping for a particular reason. All of the special things add up to give our places their unique character.
